In the wake of 9-11, Pittsburgh resolved to increase the security in all of its public safety facilities. All of the City’s 6 police zone stations underwent a vigorous assessment, design, and renovation to raise the ability the thwart any potential threat. Scope included redesign of entrances and internal facilities to incorporate bullet resistant materials, strategically located ‘man-traps’, surveillance equipment, and incorporate strategic ‘line-of-site’ protocols.
